The Reynolda House Museum of American Art, located in a North Carolina city known as Winston-Salem, puts many different forms of Southeastern American art on display in hopes to give all people - young and old - a passion for the past and for art in itself. The Reynolda House Museum of American Art has many different art pieces and exhibitions on display that are meant to fascinate and educate the public on either the artist themselves or the art that they have created.
In one of their past exhibitions, titled “Georgia O'Keeffe: Living Modern.” In this exhibition, the Reynolda House Museum of American Art showcases different works of art that were created by Georgia O’Keeffe that displays her insight towards modern subjects, and then later bringing them to life through her creative talents. Georgia O’Keeffe specializes in creating landscapes and other aspects from nature, and city scenery. Some of the natural factors that she would paint or create were of animals, up close flowers, mountainscapes, and much more. As for the cityscapes, they mostly just consisted of buildings as well as scenery, such as skyscrapers next to a large body of water, or the bottoms of buildings looking up towards the stars. The Reynolda House Museum of American Art is one of the very few art museums to display Georgia’s work, and because of this, they carefully picked out her best paintings and photographs to show just how she saw things in the modern world.
The Reynolda House Museum of American Art is closed every Monday; however, they are open from 9:30 am until 4:30 pm every Tuesday through Saturday. On Sundays, they are open from 1:30 pm until 4:30 pm. Admission prices for adults are $18. For members, people aged 18 or younger, students with valid ID, or members of the military with valid ID are able to get into the Reynolda House Museum of American Art for free.
